Chicken Pox – Causes, Symptoms, Treatment and Prevention
Chicken Pox – Causes, Symptoms, Treatment and Prevention
Chicken Pox is a highly contagious disease of mainly children aged about 5-10 years caused by ‘Varicella Zoster Virus’ (VZV).Some times the disease is also seen in adults who are not having immunity. In children the disease is usually mild. But in adults the disease appears in a virulent form with vesicles spreading almost all parts of the body. Infection spreads through direct contact from person to person. It can also spread through inhalation of the virus droplets coming out with cough and sneezing by the patient. The Incubation period is about 12- 14 days. The disease occurs throughout the year bust most commonly seen from January to May.
Symptoms and course of the disease:
Soon after the incubation period is over the disease starts with fever lasting for 3-4 days with a temperature ranging from 1000F- 1040F depending on the severity.
Sore throat, cough and general malaise, vomiting and headache are also present.
Within 3-4 days papules or vesicles appear on the body. The vesicles appear on the back, abdomen, chest, hands, feet and face. The vesicles are filled with fluid highly infectious and concentrated with virus. The patient feels discomfort with itching and burning sensation. The vesicles last for 3-4 days and starts regressing with scabbing. Care should be taken if the vesicles appear near the eyes to prevent eye infection. Secondary infections sometimes cause complications. Occasionally the vesicles may appear in the mouth and on the genital parts. Sometimes the disease may lead into complications like pneumonia, skin infections and neurological disorders like encephalitis are seen. The disease runs for about 10-14 days from the onset to complete recovery. Once infected the patient develops a life long immunity.
Treatment and general precautions:
Since Chicken Pox is highly contagious especially to children. Therefore avoid contact by other persons in the house. Keep the infected patient in isolation and keep the surrounding areas clean.
During the early stage controlling of fever is essential. Antipyretics like acetaminophen can be given. In addition cold compresses on the fore head, palms and feet can be given. When the temperature is high of more than 1040F take medical advice. High temperatures especially in children should be taken care to prevent further complications. Aspirin and ibuprofen are not advisable and should not be given.
Secondary bacterial infections should be controlled with proper antibiotics under medical advice.
Topical dressings like cold baths containing baking soda reduce the itching sensation and soothe the patient.
Gargling with salt water helps when there are vesicles in the mouth.
Scratching should be avoided. Cut the finger nails to prevent damage to the vesicles and skin infections.
When the vesicles develop near the eyes instill antibiotic eye drops to prevent infection of the eyes.
Anti viral drugs can be given in immunosuppressant patients from the beginning till the vesicles disappear.
Home remedies for Chicken Pox:
* To prevent formation of scars smear pure honey on the scabs.
* After the scab formation and recovery of the patient apply a paste made by Neem leaves, turmeric and vegetable oil. This cures the scabs quickly and prevents spread of the virus.
* Carrot and coriander soup can be given to increase the resistance of the body.
* Herbal teas made with Tulsi leaves, Cinnamon (Dalchini), honey and lemon can be given.
Prevention of Chicken Pox:
Since Chicken Pox is highly contagious necessary measures should be taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Keep the patient in isolation and avoid contact with other children in the house. Keep the surroundings clean and dispose off all the materials used by the patient and replace the bed sheets and other apparel periodically and wash them.
Chicken Pox although is not a serious disease but due to occasional complications vaccination is advised for children between 12-18 months. Older children who do not possess immunity can also be vaccinated. Vaccine provides immunity towards a severe attack of chickenpox and protects up to 85% against the disease. In spite there is an advantage the vaccine has not become popular due to the fact that the disease is milder in children and an actual attack gives a life long immunity when compared to the vaccine. Moreover the cost of the vaccine is also high. Therefore the World Health Organization has not recommended in the vaccination programme of developing countries. Article by Dr.G.B.Haranath

Hair Removal With Electrolysis At Home
Hair Removal With Electrolysis At Home
Home electrolysis hair removal is an excellent opportunity for many people who want the benefits of electrolysis treatments without having to deal with the expense and inconvenience of salon treatments.
There are a variety of affordable and portable options for home electrolysis hair removal. Many different electrolysis equipment manufacturers, including Igia, have brought to market a wide select of home electronics hair removal machines that can be purchased in a number of retail stores and from a wide assortment of online retailers.
Of course, some people will not be comfortable with home electrolysis hair removal, and for them, salon treatments are still an option. However, for people who don’t want to pay the high prices associated with professional electrolysis, home electrolysis hair removal equipment is a blessing.
How Electrolysis Works
During the process of electrolysis, a fine needle or probe is slipped through the skin alongside the hair follicle next to the root. A short current of electricity is delivered through the end of the wire to the root, effectively rendering it incapable of regrowth. The dead hair is then tweezed out.
According to the FDA, risks associated with electrolysis are infection from using unsanitary equipment and scarring due to poor technique. Because electrolysis tackles hair growth one follicle at a time, it can be very time-consuming, even when performed by a professional electrologist. Home electrolysis takes even longer.
What A Home Electrolysis Hair Removal System Can Accomplish
A home electrolysis hair removal system will give you equal results as compared to electrolysis with the same number of treatments. The only difference is the ability to have the procedure when and where you want to. Also, it gives you the power to decide if the area is hair free yet. All of the home electrolysis hair removal systems come with explicit instructions and also pictorials. These are necessary guidelines to help someone get the best possible results from the apparatus.
Once you read all the instructions and follow the techniques you can begin you journey towards permanent hair removal. When using the home electrolysis hair removal system be sure that you don’t have any skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis as this at home procedure will irritate these conditions. Included in the instructions are the skin preparation techniques in order to get your skin ready for the procedure. Along with the needed pictorials for understanding how to properly use the home electrolysis device. Proper usage should not be an issue.
Do’s and Don’ts of Home Electrolysis Hair Removal
* While conducting this procedure you may use painkillers in order to lessen the pain.
* The needle and the tweezers have to be cleaned and sterilized again and again by rubbing alcohol throughout the procedure as it helps in preventing infections.
* Proper insertion of the needle in the hair follicle is essential, if however, it pierces the skin above it, it can cause bumps and swelling in the skin.
* You may require help from another person to remove hair from areas you can’t reach.
* When doing face and body hair removal at home, always start with the legs first as the skin on the face is comparatively very sensitive, so even if something goes wrong, the skin on legs is in a better position to handle the shock.
* Home electrolysis hair removal procedure involves the usage of electricity so you have to be very careful while doing it.
* Lastly, according to the home electrolysis hair removal reviews, only such products should be used for electrolysis which let the needle enter the hair follicles as other products in the market only remove the hair from top, and thus, the hair grows back in a month’s time.
These were a few things that should be kept in mind if you plan to do home electrolysis hair removal. The whole electrolysis procedure is quite wearisome and requires great skill. So if you are not sure whether you can do it at home, it is recommended that you get it done from a professional as it is better to be safe than sorry.

Disadvantages of Drinking Green Tea For Weight Loss
1. Green tea is not a magic bullet

You’re not going to eat 5000 calories a day, drink a cup of green tea and make it all go away – it just isn’t going to happen. A healthy diet and increased exercise will go a long way in helping you lose weight and keep it off.

* For some people that have heart troubles, high blood pressure or stimulant sensitivities, the caffeine in green tea may not be the best idea. If you’re worried about the caffeine from green tea, try taking green tea extract. Most green tea extract is made from decaffeinated green tea so you can still get the weight loss benefits without the caffeine.
If you think the caffeine may be a problem, make sure to consult your doctor before starting green tea for weight loss. Also make sure to consult your doctor before starting green tea if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Bottom Line: Green tea helps you with weight loss by boosting your metabolic rate, regulating your blood sugar, suppressing your appetite and giving you something else besides that high calorie, high sugar coffee beverage to drink in the morning.

Actually this site aims to educate people about the latest thinking and ideas to help you lose weight, introduce healthy eating, and stay fit. Disadvantages of Drinking Green Tea For Weight Loss
1. Green tea is not a magic bullet
* While some people will tell you that green tea is the be-all-end-all for weight loss success, I think the keyword here is balance. You’re not going to eat 5000 calories a day, drink a cup of green tea and make it all go away – it just isn’t going to happen. A healthy diet and increased exercise will go a long way in helping you lose weight and keep it off.
2. Be cautious of the caffeine if you have health problems
